From the French countryside, she went to live on the coast near the port of Nantes.

There, so many things happened. She had dreams of going to different lands and

experiencing other cultures.

She dreamed of adventure and she read books by her favorite author, Jules Verne.

From Nantes, she went to Paris to study because she wanted to be a writer of the

genre that she

had learned to appreciate; a genre created by Jules- science fiction.

This step changed the course of her life.

This also had a profound effect on another person, Gaston Verne,

the nephew of the author. Indirectly,

he seemed to be Jules Verne himself.
